About time!

You know, I created my blog somewhere around fall 2014, and it's taken me THIS LONG to actually start it!

The reason for a quick, and sort of rushed start, is that the talented, creative, and always oh-so-funny Darnell over at is having another one of her fabulous NBUS challenges! Be sure to visit her fantastic blog for a entertaining read! I've been intending to join in the previous 3, but, see, I hadn't started a blog. Well, 4th time's the charm, right?

Now, let's see if I can manage to do link-ups and all the stuff that comes with it.. (My luck I won't even be able to upload the picture here!)

Ok, so Darnell's funner than fun challenge can be found here. I would urge everyone to clicky-click over there, but I suspect that most people coming this way, are coming from that way - know what I mean?

And this is the card I'm entering with:

The NBUS parts of it are the Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz stamp sets - I happened to find them previously loved - and actually they were hardly loved at all, looked perfect to me!

Other parts of the puzzle include Walnut Stain Distress Ink, white acrylic paint and a Brenda Walton Sizzix die. The leaves are cut out of watercolour paper, then spritzed and dipped in some Shabby Shutters and Evergreen Bough DI, and also added a bit of Pine Needles from a Distress Marker. The pink part is made from a piece of 4cc paper, glad wrap and a pink napkin from IKEA - my favourite way of adding a soft, velvet-y texture ;)

Thanks for visiting, and I'll hope to share another card soon!

  1. So pretty! I like your design and color combo!
And congrats to you for getting your blog started...
It took me a while to get the courage to start one, and now I am so glad I did...
I have met so many wonderful people on line...and some in real life because of my blog...(that has been even more special!)
Hope to see more of your lovely cards!

    1. Thank you so much for your comment! It's so encouraging to find that there's actually someone out there ;)
And hey, all tips are welcome ;) I truly have no idea what I'm doing here, only published my cards on facebook before..
Going to fetch my morning coffee and settle down reading your blog too :)

  2. I think the title of your post is fitting for my comment: It's About Time! I want to start with a huge apology, Sofia, for taking so long to visit you and thank you for playing in my NBUS Challenge #4. Your card is sensational in every way! I do love the colors and all that dimension!

Thank you, too, for joining my blog as a follower! It is a pleasure to meet you and return the flavor of joining you! Welcome to Blogland! I'm taking a bit of a break from posting right now to recuperate from my challenge and from having Easter here and then two days later, having a workshop here. I'll be back in a couple of weeks and I will be able to catch up on my "New Friends Corner" and properly introduce you to my other readers. So many of them, like Jill, are very good at visiting and welcoming new bloggie friends!

Please feel free to ask me any questions you might have about anything blog-related. If I can't help you, I might know someone who can. Enjoy your day and thank you again!! Hugs, Darnell

    1. Hi Darnell, and so happy to have you as a follower! Thank you! And indeed, with all that going on, you do deserve a break! We will all be here waiting for your return again :) I've been reading you blog for a long time, and I just love your style of writing - truly witty, and can't wait for more posts to read :)
